Dr. Sonny Burnette
Georgetown College

SONNY BURNETTE is professor of music at Georgetown College, where he teaches courses primarily in music theory and MIDI computer music. He has composed a number of works for flute choir and other ensembles, and has won the James Madison University flute choir composition competition three times. He was the Kentucky Music Teachers Association (KMTA) 2001 Commissioned Composer. As a saxophonist who doubles on flute and clarinet, Burnette has performed with a number of leading entertainers during his career. Prof. Gordon Cole
University of Kentucky

GORDON COLE joined the faculty of the University of Kentucky in 1976 following three years of teaching at the University of New Hampshire, and three years as a member of The United States Army Band in Washington, D.C. Besides being an active soloist and clinician, he is a member of the McCracken Wind Quintet, the Bizet Trio (flute, bassoon, piano), and the Peninsula Music Festival Orchestra, Door County, Wisconsin. His principle teacher was his father, Robert Cole, a former member of the Philadelphia Orchestra and professor of flute at the University of Wisconsin, Madison. Gordon.Cole@uky.edu

Mr. Todd Farmer
Taylor County School System

TODD A. FARMER is currently Director of Bands in the Taylor County School System, where he teaches instrumental music 6-12, and is very involved in the Arts and Humanities Program. Farmer received his B.M.E. degree from the University of Kentucky, and his M.M.E. degree from Western Kentucky University, and has taught for 15 years. He has been a highly-acclaimed clinician/adjudicator throughout the state, and he holds memberships in K.M.E.A., M.E.N.C., K.B.A., Phi Beta Mu, International Clarinet Society, and Flute Society of Kentucky. Todd is the principal clarinetist in the Campbellsville University Wind Ensemble, and he also plays for many functions throughout the area. tfarmer@Taylor.k12.ky.us

KRISTY KIRSH teaches flute, piccolo, recorder and fife lessons at The Fred F. Moore Music Company in Lexington, Kentucky, where she also serves as Vice President of the company. She is also the founder and director of The Lexington Flute Philharmonic, a flute choir open to all ages and ability levels of flutists. To allow for variations of performance levels, Mrs. Kirsh arranges most of the music for this ensemble and hopes to have it published in the near future. She is also locally active as a freelance performer in all genres, including classical, jazz and baroque flute, and as a clinician in the Fayette County schools. Kristy received her M.M. in music theory and flute performance from Butler University, where she taught as a graduate assistant. She studied flute with Rebecca Price-Arrensen and Karen Moratz, and music theory with Dr. Kay Hoke. Dr. Lisa R. McArthur
Campbellsville University

LISA McARTHUR is an associate professor in flute, music theory and music education at Campbellsville University, where she is also the university flute ensemble director. Dr. McArthur holds the B.M. in music education and a Performer's Certificate from the Crane School of Music, SUNY Potsdam College, New York; an M.M. in performance and an M.A. in music theory from Kent State University, Ohio; and a Ph.D. in music theory from the University of Kentucky. Dr. McArthur was selected to the 2004 Who's Who in America and received the 2001 KMEA College/University Music Educator of the Year Award. Dr. Heidi Pintner
Western Kentucky University

HEIDI PINTNER is Associate Professor of Music at Western Kentucky University, where she teaches flute, flute choir, and music theory. She is the Treasurer and a board member for the Flute Society of Kentucky. Additionally, she plays second flute in the Orchestra Kentucky Bowling Green and is a mother of three. Dr. Pintner, an avid supporter of new music, released two compact disc recordings in 2007 that feature commissioned flute chamber music: Flute Chamber Music by Michael Kallstrom on the Centaur Label (CRC 2911) and The Light Wraps You on the MSR Classics Label (MS 1217). Dr. Pintner holds degrees in flute performance from The Oberlin Conservatory of Music (B.M.) and from The Florida State University (M.M. and D.M.). Her former flute teachers include Michel Debost, Kathleen Chastain, and Charles DeLaney. Prior to her appointment in Bowling Green, Dr. Pintner taught flute and numerous courses in music theory and musicology at California State University, Chico. heidi.pintner@wku.edu

Dr. Stephanie Rea
Murray State University

STEPHANIE REA teaches at Murray State University where she maintains an active flute studio and teaches courses in music theory. She frequently performs with orchestras in the mid-south region such as Paducah (KY) Symphony, Jackson (TN) Symphony, and Owensboro (KY) Symphony. Trained first as a pianist, then as a flutist in both traditional methods and Suzuki Method, she brings a unique perspective to teaching and performing. Her degrees in flute performance are from East Tennessee State University (Rebecca Paluzzi) and The Florida State University (Charles DeLaney). Additional flute study was with Stephanie Jutt (University of Wisconsin-Madison), Toshio Takahashi (Talent Education Institute, Matsumoto, Japan), and Eric Hoover (Brevard Music Center). She has performed as a soloist at the National Flute Association Convention, the 12th International Bach Festival in Trujillo, Peru, the Rome Festival in Italy. She has given recitals and masterclasses at University of Michigan, Arizona State University and The Florida State University, among others.
